88 Mitsubishi "Wagon", L300, Delica, whatever you want to call it. Cool little van I am hopefully going to snap up on Monday for a little over scrap money. I cannot find much info on these really at all. No brochures of US specs, no nothing. Any untapped resource besides Google/Bing on getting some info? Anyone got a 87-92 full line Mitsu brochure you want to take pics of?

As far as I know, Delicas were not imported to North America as new models - anything we see on this side of the Pacific is imported - chances are that it's a right-hand drive model, yeah?
Anyhow, from what I recall, they're pretty capable little vans - I'm sure there's gotta be a few fan club web sites that have tons of info, it's just a matter of Googling it.
If you do pick it up Monday, would you mind publishing a few interior pics and a 'driving impression'/review on Oppo?

oh sure. They imported them for 3 years or so 87+ as either a Van, or Wagon for the passenger model, in very very small numbers. I was actually trying to do some research to see the major interior features I should be aware of to verify all is there before pulling the trigger. Seems like a cool little van, so I will probably do it. West coast car so 2 tiny spots of rust and some wavy gravy on the drivers side rear door but appears to be in decent shape

Colour me jelly then!
We didn't get them in Soviet Canuckistan :-( , but before I moved to Saskabush I started seeing all sorts of JDM stuff around the Fraser Valley/Vancouver area - Cappucinos, S-Cargos (weird fuckers) and a buttload of Delicas and the Toyota analogues.
Surprisingly, a lot of kei-class trucks and vans were here in Saskatchewan licensed for the road, but unless one got a vehicle with the diesel they weren't capable of going over 90km/h, which makes them a bit of a road-block on 110km/h highways..
*Lots* of Sambars and equivalents, and the parking authority here uses Mitsubishi 2-door SUVs (Monteros or similar).

I found exactly one pic of an l300 interior with the NA spec captains chairs. I hope it has some velour like this too...I know they slide around pretty far on those rails, or spin around to face backwards

As a 6'2" guy, that much leg-room means a lot!

They were and still are available all over the developing world. Never got anywhere close to the market penetration that the Toyota Hiace/Grandace has though.
Still should be a good vehicle, but good luck on finding some detailed information about it. Especially if it is, as I assume a 'for US market' version with a larger engine and autobox and probably completely different electronics, rather than the same one they sold/sell in all the other 200+ countries of the world. Maybe i'm just cynical...

it appears to be the US market version, slushbox, 107hp engine. Motor has approx 90K on it, body had 240. Driven from Washington state to maine a few years back, some recent suspension, brake, cooling, and charging work done

From what I just read on Wikipedia, Mexico might be the place to source information and parts as the same vehicle was sold there until 07 it seems, and a licensed Chinese copy known as the Dodge 1000 still is.

Hmm, that looks a lot like the van in the end credits of an anime I watched recently. I was wondering what that van was.
